One day a long time ago my pal, Nik Butler said to me, “You know, we ought to have a conversation about Social Media and Technology – and record it”. Well, this is the result of that conversation. A very experimental type of show, recorded in cafes with no editing whatsover (because I’m extremely lazy and too busy). I hope you like the shows and find them both entertaining and thought provoking.
I suppose I’d better tell you a little about myself and Nik – so here goes:
I myself am Andy White. I’m quite clever at IT and technology but more recently I’ve got more into podcasting and such things – in fact they call me the Podfather here in Brighton, where I live, even though I keep telling them that the real podfather is Adam Curry and if they don’t stop calling me the podfather, Adam, being bigger than me, will probably come down to Brighton and beat me up. No, I prefer Doctor Pod because when I was much younger, I wanted to be a doctor and I suppose I am a kind of doctor now for people who need help with podcasting and such things. Anyway, enough about me.
Nik Butler is an extremely clever man with a very loud and very high voice. I think that had something to do with his selected moniker of loudmouthman. He’s one of the nicest chaps you could ever wish to meet and has a brain the size of Jupiter. When you’re with Nik it’s often very difficult to get a word in edgeways because he’s so busy telling you all sorts of very interesting and intelligent things that you never would have thought of.
